For some reason the uploaded file appears empty. Would you mind trying to upload again? Could you also upload the file named "com.scriptographer.preferences.plist" inside Library/Preferences in your user folder? And anything you find inside Scriptographer/Logs.

I received it now, thanks. Very odd... Could you try quitting Illustrator (well I guess it's not running :), removing com.scriptographer.preferences.plist and then starting again?

I removed the pref. file then restarted. same thing; crashes on startup. i actually got the welcome to Scriptographer banner when i removed the pref. file but the program quits before you can even hit the accept button.

the scriptographer pref file made no change. still crashes. upon further troubleshooting i have traced the problem back to one file. the location is:

user/library/Preferences/Adobe Illustrator CS5 Settings/en_US/plugincache.bin

when i remove this file AI starts no problem. i believe it may have something to do with an incompatible script i have downloaded although not sure. hoping Jurg can help here.

i did your fix and it works just fine with me .. illustrator created a new plugincache.bin file and no more problem in closing illustrator.
