I am experiencing the very same behaviour when trying to start Illustrator. I'm running OSX 10.4.7 and CS2, and installed the apropriate version of the script.

Did you have a look at this post? I cannot fix this problem as it does not happen on my machine. If I could debug the issue through a remote session on a system where it fails, I could finally nail it down... The process would be rather complicated though. But would you be up for it?

I understand that debugging is a lot easier by testing via VCN. However, there's a lot of no-no's in leaving access to my work computer outside the building I'm at. Also, I really wouldn't want anyone fiddling around with my machine apart from myself =)

Isn't there any sorts of logs I can post to you?

I recieved many of logs already, but could not make much sense out of what I was seeing. The crash seems to happen somewhere outside Scriptographer, with no direct link to a call from the plugin. Without the possibility to debug it seems I cannot fix it.

Maybe you could create a seperate user account with reduced rights for the VNC session? I understand your concerns but give you my word I won't touch anything outside Illustrator / Scriptographer.
