And just to make things more clear, the script should move around the elements automatically to minimise space? Should it only move them or also rotate them? In a way that they would not overlap?

I think that it will be necessary to move and rotate them, depending on size. Is that possible? It seems that I can get most of the process to work running an action but it's very inconsistent on when it works right and when it doesn't. The main problem I have with actions is that I cannot name and select 2 objects/paths at the same time. I believe a script would allow me to do that. I'm really not to sure as I'm not familiar with code.
