This is a very simple yet very useful script for making crop marks in an easier, more flexible way than the one built in Illustrator. You can make crop marks for one or multiple items, on one or multiple artboards, for each of the items or the entire selection, in the active layer or a new one, and put the crop marks in a group or leave them separated.

Update v1.01: You can now enter a negative offset.

How to use:

Simply run the script, select one or several items, choose your values, click on 'Create Crop Marks!'.

'Offset' is the distance between the item and the crop marks.

Let me know if you have any suggestion or bug report!

This is my very first script after half a year (on and off) learning how to code, around 7 years after I first heard about Scriptographer :)

Awsome update!!! Thanks!!

About "ignore stroke weight":

I use crop marks in Die moulds, which obviously are not going to print. They only have stroke to be a REFERENCE in the screen. The lines of the Crop marks need to fit the dimensions, NOT the appearance of de Die.

I understand this is a very specific case, so this must be a option not a change in the interface.

Anyway, you are doing a great work!!!

Mustafa, I can't seem to be able to replicate that error. It works fine for me on Illustrator 15.0.2 with the latest Sg version.

I double-checked the script and everything looks fine. Only advice I can give is to re-download both Scriptographer and the script and try again. Or try updating Illustrator as well...

We notice you have the same problem with two different scripts
Do you have any other plugins installed
Any special options such as right to left text ?

Hey davib - Scriptographer doesn't work with CS6+ versions. The Future of Scriptographer is … Paper.js!

From now on I recommend using the Crop Marks script you can find here. It's much much better than mine, and fully compatible with CS6+.
