what it does:
the script takes the selected objects and blows them up with a detonation.
the detonation starts at the documents zeropoint and can be adjusted by
moving that point or the selected vectors around.

how to use:
select a few objects or several or also quite a lot and press the
play button. a dialog will open with some options to tweak the result.
tweak them and hit "lets boom!!!"

if the objects don't explode, they're most likely still a group.
ungroup them! use free objects, free the objects!! freedom for objects!!
down wif teh grups!!!

the detonation uses four "circles" to create the explosion.
they can be modified in the script options to achieve different looks.
try out different values and different selected objects.
also don't forget to play with the scale of the selected objects
in relation to the document size.

notes:
great things come from explosions.
but also great evil, so choose your objects wisely!

todo:
use pathfinder to make a splitter-mode. heelp needed ->

Thanks a bunch! Spent two hours illustrating on a tight deadline, tried this script and bang! Illustrator bombs. Back to square one.
Guess I should've read the posts here first and saved before using a new script. DOH!

Arf !!

This scipt WORK !! :)
I've update my version of scripto with 2.0.025.

When you decide to explosed an objet, don't forget to place it on or near of the bottom left of your scene ! (like it is show on the video demo)
The exposion depend on the _x and _y of your object !

Hope U understand my english ! :)

Hey All -

I am having a slightly different problem I think and would appreciate any illumination. When I select my objects (all ungrouped) and hit the play button, the Scriptographer consule gives me this message:
"illegally formed XML syntax (/Applications/Adobe Illustrator CS3/Plug-ins.localized/Scriptographer/scripts/scripts/fadenGraydiExplosionPack4000.js#122)"

Do I not have it installed correctly? Any thoughts?

Cheers,
Matthew

thats most likely because you rightclicked on the script to "save as" on this website.. it doesn't work. you need to click on the script and accept the agreement. what you downloaded is not the script, it was the agreement site.

hi there

i have the same problem as matthew!

if i accept the agreement and download the file...it suddenly becomes TXT file...although is still have the JS ending?!?!and then it dont appears in the scripts when i´m running the illustrator

and when i download it it with the right mouse click..then comes this "illegaly formed" message...(then this file appears as script)

i think the problem is in my computer...i´ve used this script allready on cs2...and now with the cs3 its not the same thing obviously

grrrretings
