Scriptographer.org - Object raster grid

Hello everyone,

is there any way to develop an object raster without fitting to the grid, a sort of random grid.
In the screenshot a result (that i have made manually) that I would like to reach.

The nearest I have seen to this might be some cartographic work at
http://www.ika.ethz.ch/plugins/
There is a plugin called IrregularPattern - and with different size dots it might do what you want - better than rasterising and clipping
