i have the same problem... i have installed the latest version of java SE 5.0 and the latest scriptographer... but when i start illustrator it shows me the same error...

Same with me. I had Scriptographer running on a XP with SP2 and Illustrator CS2 perfectly before. But now, -after setting up my system from scratch again and installing the latest version of scriptographer (and of course the latest JRE)-, it keeps on crashing.

I can't say for sure now, which version of Sg I used before my reinstallation, but I assume it was an older one...

However, this is a great piece of software and a great source of inspiration, so please, please offer a solution or a hint, how I could resolve this problem.

I'm having the same problem, but running CS2 on OSX 10.4.8 - I get identical error messages, and then Illustrator crashes.

Does removing the jvm.ini file in the java folder solve the problem for you?

I am running CS2 on XP SP2, and removing the jvm.ini file solved my problem!

There is no jvm.ini file by default anymore now, so I would assume you are facing a different problem. Are you on Windows? If so, did you install a virtual machine? Maybe you installed one for 64 bit? Illustrator runs in 32 bit mode and therefore requires the virtual machine to be 32 bit as well. If that is the case, try downloading and installing a 32 bit version as well...
