Digging into Java / JNI definition revealed that -4 means not enough memory available.

How much memory does your machine have? You could try launching Scriptographer with less memory through a textfile file called jvm.ini inside the Scriptographer/Core/Java folder containing these two lines:

• Xms16m
• Xmx64m

The first line defines the minimum amount of memory (16mb), the 2nd the maximum amoung (64mb). Use the attached file as a start.

Could you try this out and play with these values to see what happens? If you set the file up correctly, the parameters should appear in your native.log file.

Good morning Jürg, well, I`ve pasted in the jvm.ini file you told me and now it works!!! I did not change the parameters in it.
(The only thing I´ve changed was the virtual memory in the preferences of my Illu CS4. But this was before I´ve pasted in the file and it did not work)

Ok, that's very good to know. I am looking into this more and plan to come up with a solution that will not require a jvm.ini file. Would be good if you could be up for testing that for me as soon as it is ready.

Not all is perfect at my end unfortunately - when I type number 0 on my numeric keyboard, then it activates the Sg pencil and for some reason reads the Insert function of zero. My function mode is off/on - no difference. Is there a line in code I can change to fix this?

Right now I have to move the Sg folder out of plug-ins to do the daily task.
