Scriptographer.org - Mosaic Text or Vector Mosaic

Hi I've been seeing quite a lot of illustrations using tiny vector tiles to built up a major image, is this done on Scriptographer? Basically it achieves the same effect as a normal image mosaic but with vectors, meaning tiny squares of symbols. The example is on the Wallpaper magazine July/August 2005 page 124, the dragon made out of tiny blocks of stars.

The thing is the effect that I want is not DRAWING with tiles but render an image or trace it with multiple tiles. Just like you render it with mosaic in illustrator but instead of the NORMAL squares, using different patterns or tiles. The overall image is composed of tiny different vector tiles.

You can do that with tile tool.. just create a tileset that has the same tiles in the corner layers (basically tiles without corners), and then raster the image and select 'trace image'

don't forget to select image pixel values in the order pulldown
