Roulettes

I have expanded on the Spiro script by adding three more types of roulettes and a couple of other functions.

R is the stator, the wheel which the rotor (r) revolves around (or inside of).
d sets the drawing point distance from the rotors center on the epitrochoid and the hypotrochoid roulettes.
Plot/angle controls how often a new point will be plotted.

I have intentionally left out the pointsToCurve command because it didn't seem to plot the graph as exact as I wanted. The script will generate quite a few points so either increase the plot/angle value or run the Path/Simplify function afterwards.

Check out these on wikipedia, it's quite interesting to read.
Epicycloid
Epitrochoid
Hypocycloid
Hypotrochoid

11/04/18 * UPDATE *
Updated this script to work with the new Scriptographer UI. Let me know if there are any snags.

Hey I've installed Roulettes and it seems to run but I'm unable to change any of the properties. The only thing that works seems to be the Render button. Can anyone help with this problem?

I'm running CS4 on Windows 7

Same problem for me: impossible to change the Stator, Rotor and Rotor offset properties.

Any solution? Thanks.

Same here. All settings are frozen, except for the Render-button. However, nothing happens when I press Render.

New SG version

Well, I would guess this is because of the new updated Scriptographer. I'm not really THAT into javascript but there is a huge difference as to how it handles palettes.

I will eventually get down to make all the necessary changes, but at the moment I'm kinda caught up in a bunch of other stuff (one being a full time job)...

Hope you don't mind. If it's really, REALLY urgent I could probably try to squeeze it in.

I will look into this before releasing the upcoming version. As Håkan says this can well be the cause of all these problems. Apologies for the issues, and expect more about this soon.

Not working properly

Oh yes, forgot to mention, this script doesn't work for me either since the latest update so a complete code overhaul is well in its place.

Håkan, the last update should not have broken this script in the first place. I shall look into it and release and update shortly, as it is overdue anyhow. So don't worry about the code overhaul for now.

Version 2.8.055 was just uploaded and should fix this issue.

Thank you for the fix. I am noticing that the plots are rendered above my Illustrator "page". I've noticed that a number of examples refer to the "y" position as positive which takes everything above the page. I am running the latest version of Scriptographer in CS5 on OS 10.5.8. Does this mean that i have some preference miss set?

This is because Adobe changed the artboard coordinates in the latest CS5.
Up until now, the bottom left corner has been the default 0,0 position but I think it's at the top left corner instead.
